After the farm stop we went to a spot where there is an eagle's nest. It's on the other side of these tracks close to the Delaware River. We'd been photographing the eagles for about 15 minutes when this train came slowly passing by. Well, it's not exactly an engineer waving to me from the engine (which is a shot I've always thought would be fun to get) but it is kind of fun to have the guy holding on to the back there. I guess the train was backing up as he is coming toward me rather than moving away. I put some vintage effects on this version, but I may enter one without any effects for the Scavenger Hunt category of "Industry". It is a freight train, but I don't know if the judges will get it. Ugh- this club competition is driving me crazy!
This is really a fascinating subject. I can't imagine why the judges wouldn't think it's industrial. Hang in there honey the contest will be over soon.
Thank you Karen, Denise, Chris, Alia, Mary, Wendy, Katy, Brian, Anita, Alta and Nicole!
Well, now I'm in a quandary- so many positive comments and today I took a different shot that I thought I'd use. I guess I'll just have to post it and see what you all think!
@annied Thank you Annie! I wasn't sure if he was going to jump off (that train was moving really slow) and yank the camera out of my hand or not. But he never made a move. @pyrrhula Thank you Ferry!
Nice editing too!
