Two of my lawn decorations helped out for today's letter.

There is a silly story behind these flamingos. When we moved into our house in the Poconos, the little gardens in the front yard had two decorative statues- a raccoon and a deer- both made of plaster. Jeff thought they were ridiculous! After all, there is no shortage of the real versions of these animals here! But I wouldn't let him take them out. I liked the irony of them. Every time someone came to visit Jeff would complain about "the phony critters in the front yard". But I would defend them. At one point he complained, "The next thing you know we'll have those plastic pink flamingos in the garden too!" Well, now you know what he got for Christmas that year...
