This has been a month of unexpected good-byes. We have been to three funerals in four weeks and on Saturday I learned that one of the vendors at the Farmer's Market (the Mushroom Man) passed away unexpectedly too. I spent some time talking with his widow who will carry on the business. I admire her as this is no small task but I know most of us love those fresh mushrooms and will appreciate that they're still available.
Our recent speaker at photo club gave us a presentation on how black and white photography is a way to express oneself- especially how one sees the world through the camera lens. Leaves of sorrow may be gathering by the door these days, but doors eventually open and when you walk through them, the journey goes on.
A lovely symbol and story of life and death and hope as well. I do agree that black and white does a compelling job of showing our feelings. I’m so sorry you have lost so many dear ones, I hope each day is better, and has the promise of better days ahead.
Oh Ann, this photo expresses grief perfectly and your words are beautiful. So sorry for your month of losses. We had one this week, too, not a close friend but someone we respected who died much too young.
Nice capture. Sad story. But, eventually life carries on for those left behind. I just learned that a friend’s husband dropped dead from a heart attack. He was 51 years young and healthy.
My most humble thanks to each of you. Your kind and encouraging words are just one of the reasons why 365 has become so special to me. And they also illustrate that we never experience anything alone. Others are walking on similar paths, sharing the same feelings. Thank you again for your support of my project- I'm truly honored to have you as friends!
@milaniet Milanie, my sorrow though heartfelt is nothing like what you are experiencing but I am thankful my words meant so much to you.
@eudora@gardenfolk My sympathies to both of you for your losses as well.
@pyrrhula Thank you Ferry! @nicolecampbell Thank you Nicole and thanks for the hug! It's just a very sad time- but it will get better. Life usually does.
Very poignant shot. It speaks volumes to your subject. Your choice of processing accents all the patterns and textures beautifully. I'm sorry for all your losses and that you have to suffer through them all together like this
