Critter Carols 20

Kay and Theo were able to take a Winter Wonderland walk after we had a dusting of snow the other day.

"Winter Wonderland" is a song written in 1934 by Felix Bernard and lyricist Richard B. Smith. Because the lyrics of the song talk about snow and other wintery activities the song came to be considered a Christmas song in the Northern Hemisphere. Since its original recording by Richard Himber, it has been covered by over 200 different artists, including Bing Crosby, Dean Martin, Johnny Mathis, Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Amy Grant, Michael Bublé, The Eurythmics, and Radiohead.

The song is about a couple who are taking a stroll after snow has fallen. They are enjoying the winter landscape when they happen upon a snowman. They name him after the parson and when he asks if they're married they say no, but tell the snowman he can do the honors back in town.

Interestingly, the man who wrote the song is from a town not too far from where Miss Ann lives! He was inspired by a beautiful snowfall which covered the town square and wrote the song while he was recovering from tuberculosis.

Hmmm...the Critters are wondering why did Kay and Theo picked this song?
Maybe they are waiting to do the honors back in town. This is really beautiful with your real and fake snow combined to make very definitely a winter wonderland photo
