I feel like I have been on a physical see-saw this month. Some days I'm fine- typically achy for winter but fully functional- getting in and out of the car, going up and down the stairs slowly but surely, and taking care of stuff around the house. Other days, the pain in my hip is excruciating and I get so disappointed thinking all that knee surgery was in vain if I can't get past this pain. I was in the dr.'s office for a check up on Tuesday and decided it was time to let him know how much it was bothering me. I was sent off to the x-ray room and lo and behold, the picture on the right is what that x-ray revealed- my right hip, the one that's giving me all the trouble is abnormally formed! You can see a healthy hip on the left. The leg bone has also worn the bone so much there is an indent in the pelvic bone which may mean I will need special parts (I always knew I was special!). I see the dr. again tomorrow to plan our course of action. Looks like I'm going to be giving the Bionic Woman a run for her money but now I know why I've been hurting so much!
Oh Ann. I am so so sorry to hear of your struggles! Hip pain any pain is nothing to ignore! It definitely makes doing anything very difficult! I’m so glad you have figured out what’s going on and will be able to figure out some course of action. Thanks for showing us these fabulous photos
So sorry to hear of all this - but I know you must be glad to find out the cause of all this trouble. Hopefully the Bionic Woman will once again appear (or some easier route) to end that pain.
Goodness, at least now you know why you have all the pain. I hope that they are able to figure out the best course of action soon to help relieve the pain. Take care of yourself Ann
Always good to get to the bottom of severe pain as there's always a reason, but not always easy to find it. Good luck with your follow up doctor's visit.
Quite a portrait! (Some people will do anything to get the perfect shot! Just kidding.) I'm sorry that you are hurting so much but for starters it's good to know what the problem is that you're dealing with. I hope there is a good resolution.
Thank you so much everyone! My follow up visit resulted in my being referred to another dr. for the actual surgery. I see him this coming Thursday. So another bone, another replacement! But there is light at the end of the tunnel.
Thank you for your concern and well-wishes. I'm still a bit sore but it won't be too long before that will be history.
Oh Ann I am sorry to hear this news. I know full well how constant pain can get you down. I am glad you can keep optimistic and that there is a solution around the corner.
@helenhall Thank you Helen- if I didn't stay positive, I'd probably become a recluse- the Lord would not be pleased with that! Thank you for your kind words!
