Thank you Ellen, Katy, Don, Lynda, Sw, Diane, Issi, Diana, Haskar, Lou Ann, Marilyn, Gloria, Nina, Kathy, and Harry!
I took this picture at Grey Towers, the former home of Gifford Pinchot who was a governor of Pennsylvania and considered to be the founding father of the U. S. Forest Service. His wife Cornelia was quite the designer and this fruit bowl is floating in a garden feature she called "The Finger Bowl". It's located under an amazing arbor which is covered by a beautiful Wisteria vine- it's absolutely gorgeous when in bloom. It was designed to be a watery table where guests could sit under the arbor and enjoy some of Pennsylvania's best garden fare. The water kept everything fresh and the arbor kept everyone cool. And if someone wanted something, instead of getting up to bring the platter to them, all you had to do was give it a little push and it floated right to the person who asked for it. Of course their platters were completely edible and definitely not wooden.
@bybri Thanks Bri- no, it's really just an overhead shot of the fruit bowl floating in the water.
@catcarter19 Thanks Cat- no real foolery here. Nature supplied what looks like effects. This pool sits underneath an arbor covered in Wisteria. The light coming through the vines made those white dots and streaks. This edge of the pool is rounded so the light bends with the shape of the pool. I took the shot by holding the camera over the bowl and only showing one edge of the ledge that goes around the outside of the pool. I did apply a water color effect which softened the edges of everything but nothing more than that. Surprise! Thanks so much for the fav!
