There's something about attics that fascinate children. I remember being intrigued by my grandparents' attics. They held exciting mysteries and discoveries in my imagination. We keep an old futon mattress up in ours for when the grands come to visit. After we pulled it down the other night, Sam and Lucy wanted to see what else was up there. At first Sam was a little reticent about climbing those rickety steps, but once he determined it was worth the climb- he was up in the attic in no time flat! Lucy wasn't too far behind him.

@pyrrhula The "entrance" is the opening in the ceiling- he's actually IN the attic- it's small!!
@grammyn During the day at this time of year, it is way too hot to be in the attic but this was taken at about 10 at night, so it was tolerable for a couple of children- but not their grandparents!
@grammyn A child that wants to help get the extra mattress he will be sleeping on down. LOL He and his sister were absolutely fascinated with what was up there. They said when they come back they want to help me clear it. Needless to say, I will be begging their mother for that to happen asap!
