I have been to keep fit class this morning and after lunch I had chance to look back at the photos taken at Oakvale recently.
I love the ostriches and this one is such a character. He really took an interest in me and followed me up and down the enclosure probably hoping I would feed him.
People who go to the farm are given a bag of food to feed certain animals, but I decided to give that a miss this time.
I remember visiting a few years ago when my nephew came to visit and he held up the bag of food for an ostrich (not sure if it was this one) but the ostrich snatched the food out of his hand, bag and all and swallowed it in one go. Good job the bag was paper. If this is the same ostrich it doesn't seem to have had any ill effects after his previous episode.
Such a fun story too.. they are supposed to have a fantastic digestive system!
