As we were walking back to the car after taking photos in Newcastle last Sunday we walked down one of the laneways and I came across this fabulous street art.
Obviously a take on the Banksy street art 'Sweeping it under the carpet'
A great find. I looked at the Banksy version which only makes me realise once more what a talented artist he is. This version is not quite so complimentary a portrait of the maid!
@onewing Yes we visited the hotel last time we were in Bethlehem. It has a museum - which gives an honest and no holes barred account of Britains role in creating the current situation, and an art gallery of Palestinian artists with some beautiful work. An amazing place. Hope to revisit in April. http://365project.org/helenhall/365/2017-05-05
@chimfa Not many people will walk past unless they know about where the laneway leads. We just happened to know it was a short cut back to our car.
@olivetreeann The draping does look realistic, I agree.
@helenhall This artist hasn't quite got Banksy's style has he but it still made me smile.
Did you see the Walled Off Hotel in Palestine when you were there? It is a Banksy project I believe in Bethlehem near the West Bank wall.
The Walled Off Hotel I believe is Banksy's take on the Waldorf Hotel.
