First Day of Summer by onewing

First Day of Summer

Today is the first day of summer here in Australia and it has been a beautiful day so far.

We have just got home from a lunch at the golf club to celebrate the 40th wedding anniversary of friends of ours.

I think I will have to go for a walk on the beach later this afternoon to walk off the delicious lunch.

I put this collage together of pictures taken on a market stall a couple of weeks ago. I just loved the summery scenes.
A photo that’s sums up summer completely Babs! Lots of lovely days out & walks ahead but also some chilling in the garden too!

I love your collage. I think it makes more sense to start seasons on the first of a month. I know we use the sun placement in the sun but really who can remember these dates.

@joansmor Australian seasons are defined by the meteorological seasons which start at the 1st of the month of each season ie. 1 Dec summer, 1 March Autumn, 1 June Winter and 1 Sept Spring. and I believe the USA uses the astronomical dates ie Spring equinox, summer solstice, fall equinox and winter solstice. Can't remember the actual dates off hand.

@onewing Yes and who does remember those dates. I like your way.
