Just back from a few days in Derbyshire. This is a quick upload of one of the many shots I took last Tuesday when I visited Chatsworth House. As I drove into Chatsworth the Hunt were gathering in the courtyard. They were having a drink and people were going round with silver salvers with fruit cake on. The hounds were all loose and so friendly to all us onlookers. I think this would have been a drag hunt as fox hunting is illegal. I was pleased to get so many shots of such a colourful occasion.
Best on black.
I have had no WiFi for the last week and am therefore really behind in uploading and commenting. I will try to catch up over the weekend.
I used to follow the hunt when I was a girl but obviously I didn't really understand what was going on. Very colourful scene. Hope all is well with you.
A tradition that spread to Virginia, loved going to the hunts there when younger, No horse but loved the spiced beverages....and usually a bit too much! Great capture
What a stunning image for "all of us foreigners"! As Jane just above says, it's like something out of the movies! (I'm so glad they can enjoy the ride without annoying a fox!)
