2016 05 05 River Walk

Here I am awake again!! It is very windy out there - I just hope it has died down by the morning!!

Yesterday we had a more relaxed day with a slightly later start. We went down to the River and did the River Walk out towards the Lake. Well worth the walk into the strong wind as this was one of the views looking back to the city. You can see Rosie @rosekind in the pink and Sarah @piximac in the blue - hoods up trying to keep warm

After lunch we went on the Chicago Architectural Foundation (CAF) River Boat tour which was really interesting. It was however freezing cold on top of the boat and after an hour we had to give up and go down below.

Many thanks for all your wonderful comments and Favs on my shots - so very much appreciated!!
You're all wrapped up, it's not known as the Windy City for nothing then? Amazing buildings!

You've done a walk I've never done, Pam! What a wonderful view, and I would imagine you got many (many!) gorgeous photos! I was going to tell you that it's not windy at all. here, 20 minutes away, but that's the city for you! In CA, the wind moves in from the desert. It can be really windy, and a short distance away, a friend may tell me it's not windy...at that moment! Before long, it's windy everywhere, but it's not a daily thing like it can be here!

@darylo It was so funny yesterday when we were on a bus. A woman got on wearing a very bright orange full length coat (hit you in the face orange). Rosie whispered to me "you can't miss her" and I laughed and said I think it's pot calling kettle black with the fluorescent pink jacket she was wearing!! We all bought Barby Pink Sweatshirts yesterday as we were feeling the cold. It had Chicago written across the chest. AS I got in the lift this morning there were three tiny Japanese women in there who all looked at my chest then at each other and raised their eyebrows!! So funny I think they guessed I was a tourist!!

@darylo We did the Architectural Skyscraper tour this morning which was very interesting. This evening we are meeting up with Andie (UKandie) undoing right time shots. Tomorrow my last day and I am going with Taffy and Jim to the Chicago Cubs game in the afternoon and then the Chicago Symphony Orchestra in the evening!! It has been action packed very day - such a brilliant week we have had with Taffy doing so much of the organising!! I have fallen in love with Chicago!!

@888rachel It was quite changeable Rachel - think we saw everything except snow!! Thursday much warmer and Friday was a glorious day. Thankfully we had great seats at Wrigley Field and they were in the shade too!! I would not have lasted long in the sunshine!!
