My Dad, with me and each of my sons, out on a piggyback ride through somewhere beautiful. I'm thankful that my Dad always said, "I didn't have kids so I could leave them at home with a babysitter," and thankful that he loved to get out and go for walks and passed that on to us.
I like your dad. We stayed home or took our kids wherever we went as well. I only had a babysitter maybe twice and my kids remember that as well. It has always been my priority to spend as much time as I can with my family because at the end of the day, it is them that makes life have value. Very cool!
@catsmeowb@dmortega well looking back they should have gotten a few babysitters because dad got to go to work but mom stayed home with us, and his wonderful attitude meant she almost never had a kid free moment. He died when my boys just turned 2 and 3 so my pictures are the only memories they have of him, but she has been an active part of their lives.
At least you have pictures. My family never really took pictures and I don't have more than a handful, if that, of even my parents. It's good to bring them back, to remind us of who they were.
