April White

Wikipedia says of white
White is the color of fresh milk and snow.[1] [2] It is the color the human eye sees when it looks at light which contains all the wavelengths of the visible spectrum, at full brightness and without absorption. It does not have any hue. [3]
As a symbol, white is the opposite of black, and often represents light in contrast with darkness. According to surveys in Europe and the United States, white is the color most often associated with innocence, perfection, the good, honesty, cleanliness, the beginning, the new, neutrality, lightness, and exactitude.

This is my calla Lily, bursting into lovely heart shaped , hand sized blooms of thick, crepey white

"White...is not a mere absence of colour; it is a shining and affirmative thing, as fierce as red, as definite as black...God paints in many colours; but He never paints so gorgeously, I had almost said so gaudily, as when He paints in white." --G. K. Chesterton

"The first of all single colors is white ... We shall set down white for the representative of light, without which no color can be seen; yellow for the earth; green for water; blue for air; red for fire; and black for total darkness." --Leonardo Da Vinci
That's why we like white so much as you state! The lily is perfection! Like the wee white doves cooing in the corner too!
