Across the fields

Looking across the fields towards the Old St Matthew Church Lightcliffe.
Original built as a church in Neoclassical style in 1775, It was replaced in the late 19th century by a new church a short distance away. The old church tower is all that remains in the graveyard and is maintained by "The Friends" who were granted a 99-year lease on the tower on 1 January 1974.

Lovely shot and interesting story. I wonder what will happen to it after the lease is over.

More drama in the sky too! I love that the "new" church is circa 1800's. Like the "new" course at St. Andrews (which I'll be playing this August!)
