Sibden Hall West Yorkshire 1 mile from Halifax.
The hall dates back to around 1420, Prior to 1619, the estate was owned by the Savile and Waterhouse families.
For three hundred years (c. 1615-1926) the Shibden estate was owned by the Lister family, wealthy mill-owners and cloth merchants,
The estate became a public park in 1926 and the hall a museum in 1934. The park and gardens were restored between 2007 and 2008 with £3.9 million from the Heritage Lottery Fund plus £1.2 million from Calderdale Council.
Interesting narrative and what a fabulous building. I really do miss old buildings sometimes now we live in Australia. Nothing as old as this here I can tell you.
@stray_shooter Sorry for the late response to your lovely comments Ron I will catch up by the weekend, up to my eyes having work done in my property and late back from the racing, I love architecture of all Types the problem is getting them people free and the right perspective, always seams to be another building in the way:)
