Looking along the Calder and Hebble Navigation Canal near Brighouse in West Yorkshire on a cold and sunny morning, it has a thin film of ice on the surface.
History:- the Calder and Hebble Navigation canal runs for 21 miles from the Aire and Calder Navigation at Wakefield to Sowerby Bridge and was one of the first navigable waterways into the Pennines, the navigation to Sowerby Bridge was completed in 1770, including a short branch to Dewsbury ...
i know this stretch, from having walked it.. you've done it proud Peter.. Super reflections and good depiction of the light..

Great perspective and a terrific capture. Interesting how the reflection is so much more crisp than the reflected subject. It looks like a great place to take a walk....with a camera!
@jorlam Thank you for your lovely comments, the strong sunlight was a bit of an issued in some locations, I thought you would know this part of the canal:)
@teiko Thank you Emilie for your comments these canal towpath walks are usually quite and peaceful only real noise is the gently ringing of the mountain bikers bell to warn up they are going to pass through, almost always as you have just composed the shot, lol:)
@stray_shooter Thank you for your comments Ron, there are a number of such walks around here, all traffic free with the exception of mountain bikes in saying that they are generally courteous and friendly:)
@onewing Thank you for your interesting comments Babs, it was a lovely sunny day and the temperature raised to a balmy +3 degrees C followed by a hard frost last night, lol:)
