I was passing over the River Medway and thought I should stop and get a few pictures. This old working boat caught my eye - best viewed on black if you have the time (just click on the photo).
The Medway is around 90 miles long, winding its way through Sussex and Kent before flowing into the Thames Estuary near Sheerness (i.e. for those non-UK residents, more towards the North Sea than London). I was standing near the modern Medway bridges, but lower down the river, in mid-Kent, it was a valuable working waterway for hundreds of years meaning there is much historical river-based architecture that I am going to have to visit for 365 purposes! Watch this space. Nowadays the river is used mainly for leisure and sporting purposes.
Many thanks for all your recent comments, I am always very grateful.
