gulls by peadar

gulls

I was stupidly excited about the first outing for my new lens (Canon EF 17-40 f/4L). I went to shoot a moody snow shot of the fabulous Church on Blackheath, but ended up with this, which is probably more fun!
Fun shot Peter and it looks really really sharp. Congrats on the new lens!

Lovely winter scene.
January 20th, 2013
Just great Peter! The orange legs and beaks really stand out well.
I got a new lens a couple of months ago and was childishly giddy! I thought about the 17-40 a lot but in the end I got the 24-105 purely on the basis of its IS really (I have a terribly shaky left hand!) and I'm very pleased with it so a 10-22 or similar is on the wish list to fill the gap at the wide end...don't think 16-35 type funds are likely to be released by the OH :(

@bluefirebucket Thanks, Mick, the 24-105 looks a cracking lens. In the end, as I also shoot with a cropped sensor, I figured the 17-40 would give me an effective range of around 25-65; it's my first L series. So now I just need to save my pocket money until I can add some others! Thanks for the nice comment.
