My other project... by peadar

My other project...

A little update from my other project...

I have spent some time installing automatic colour light signals at the end of each station platform, as well as adding detailing to the Goods Yard scene. Here you can see an early EMU (Electric Multiple Unit) commuter train being held at a red signal, whilst on the other line a rake of BR Mk 1 "crimson and cream" coaches are arriving into the station pulled by a BR V3 2-6-2 "tank" steam loco. (For aficionados, I know, you would probably never have seen a V3 on Southern lines, but, hey, it's my model!)

On the left you can see some of the Goods Yard detailing including Yard crane and some drums of something-or-other. Over to the rear on the left you can see the Timber Yard that I featured here a few weeks ago, now resting in what I think will be its final spot, although I haven't weathered it in yet as I'm not sure...

And now that I'm looking at this in a photo I realise I need to get the vacuum cleaner out...
Oh lights! It really adds to the whole charm when there are actual light signals. Starting to look quite busy there ;).

Wow Peter, it is becoming a real station with goods and all. You did a lot of work on your “other” project, a big fav for that!

Such a cool layout! We are hoping to get ours up and running properly when we move house. Just haven't enough room here!

How big is this project Peter, My next project fades into the shadows in size it is a 1:67 scale model of a Thames Barge.

@hobgoblin John, the total layout size is 8' x 4', roughly speaking it's split half and half lengthways between the scenic area and storage roads.

That did not suit me! But I know. You have left-hand traffic. It's great that you can do it.
