I'm behind on my days. This is Wednesday's picture.
Not a particularly good one as I was rushing around all day and had little time to shoot !
There is a 'flea market' in our suburb of Nottingham every Wednesday evening. Basically, people hire a stall and sell of all their junk...clothes, toys, CD's, household items etc .
I don't know how much it is to hire a stall, but it costs 50 pence admission to actually visit the market as a customer !! 50 pence to go and look at tat !!! I ask you !!
This shot is taken from outside the market (hence the bit of fence / railing in the shot).
Compositionally it's not brilliant, but I like the three ladies 'diving' into the stall searching for 'bargains' !! I use the word 'bargains' lightly !
I've heavily post processed it in Photoshop Elements to try and get a gritty colour shot ......I'm not too sure what I did , I messed around with the 'midtones' and 'lighten highlights' slider bars and took them both to 100%.
I think the post processing is better than the image , but it reflects another bit of urban reality.
I'm going to have to post a few cheerful images over the next few days after 3 'urban shots' on the row !
@judithg Judith thanks for commenting. Actually we visited the market last week and managed to find a couple of nice baby blankets for the dog basket of our little whippet dog' (Ruby), who we rescued last weekend !!. They washed up nicely ...50 pence each !!!
@judithg Kennel cough is getting better Judith...nearly gone...she finishes her antibiotic tablets today (takes them quite nicely hidden in a bit of meat) and the Dogs Trust actually gave us some human 'benylin chesty cough' mixture to give her for a few days !!
Must have been something very interesting on that table in front of the three ladies lol! This is a very colorful image..I like that most of the color is to the left except for the purple scarf to the right.
What a great shot - it looks like those women are on a mission - woe-betide anyone who gets the desired garment before they do!! You've captured the mood and action in this really well
Really like this.
The over-colour works well and you have the desired urban grit. The purple dinosaur (forget its name, Barney? or is that summat else..anyway.) tops it off.
@sparkle Juliette, it's quite worrying that they appear to be 'on a mission' ...there must be something worth getting on there for them to be so keen !
