Well adjacent to the market is the 'market cafe' and a 'tattoo shop' !
So while looking for 'tat' at the flea market or market, you can also get a 'tatt' at the tattoo studio and even get a cuppa tea too !
I cannot comment on the quality of the 'fayre' available at the cafe, nor can I comment on the quality of the tattoos available at the studio, as I've never sampled the 'market cafe' food and I don't have any tatt's !!
I was going to convert this to B/W, but thought the yellows, reds and odd coloured tables would be lost in a B/W conversion.
Compositionally, it would have been better if somebody was sat at the middle table, but hey, this is the scene that greeted me on Wednesday lunch time.
I might visit this scene again later in my 365. It might look even more vibrant when they have the summer 'matching parasols' out !!
Enough 'waffle' about the scene, I'll let the image do the talking ... a gritty urban street scene or a comment on life in 2011 ?
Had to do a double-take when I read the sign for 'Body Pie' - is that a speciality of the cafe or the tattoo parlour!? LOL
If there'd been someone at the middle table, they might have blocked the view of those old vending machines - I used to love those as a child, putting the coin in, turning the handle, then lifting the flap to see what I'd got! :o)
Interesting shot...and title. I, too, remember the fun of getting a trinket or gumball from the vending machines..now my grandson has fun with them..I just hope he doesn't opt for a tatt!
I used to love getting temporary tattoo's out of vending machines. I wonder what the lady looking at the "menu" on the window of the tattoo parlor is thinking. Great shot!
@patsyjphillips thanks for the comments, I'm sure with you for a grandparent your grandc hildren will be 'model citizens' :) ...(that was a compliment btw :)....)
@gill thanks Gill, I'm not too sure which shop came first , the tatt or the caff :).... they have both been there for some time, so must be 'worth while' businesses !!...hey I've just seen your bandstand on BBC news ... they are interviewing a 'green' MP outside the bandstand you photographed recently :)
Another fun street shot. Glad we got to see the "penny dispensers"! They are such a memory of my childhood! Glad you kept it in color, you are right it makes the shot. Nicely captured.
@gill Ha Ha Gill, strange isn't it, I recognise a bandstand on the TV because I saw it on 365 !! Must have been a good pic by you for me to recognise it :)
Ha ha love the commentary and title! It is a great shot colours are ace (gad you did not b&w it) and it is so well observed love it - another fav for me. Roll on the parasols for your T & Tatt 2
