I was going to post another sand dune / big sky image from earlier in the week, but decided I had to do a picture of the 'said day', so I chose one took in the 'outside waiting' area in the departure lounge of Fuerteventura Airport.
You get big skies on the island of Fuerteventura, so the airport seemed an appropriate place to show a 'last big sky'.
I've gone almost 'high key' in the B/W conversion because I liked the way the conversion really made the airport lettering stand out.
Anyway last pic of the holiday, I'm about a week behind in posting so expect of rush of 'phil images' uploaded over the weekend
I really like how the eye travels up the lines of tables - a neat perspective. The huge sky and lettering are fantastic, and black and white keeps us really focused on these parts of the photo. So yes, repetition, lines, big sky and wonderful lettering and I like the more high key approach to this. Nice one Phil!
@judithg Judith , I could not possibly letterbox this :) without losing some impact. As for being outside, well that was a bonus apart from the smoke drifting over from a few people having a last cigarette !!
@whippeteer Frances, thanks for your support. My processing is always a bit hit and miss, I just move a few slider bars in photoshop elements until I'm happy with what I see :)
@sleepdozer57 thanks Peter, I only consider my pictures average , so your ' inspiring' line is most welcome .....although we can all sometimes manage to pull off a good shot in our 365 :)
@sparkle @phil_howcroft ..ah The Struggle, the struggle continues..but its worth it, ..and both you guys are quite inspiring.
