We've not cut our Christmas Cake yet, so after lunch I suggested we had Christmas Cake for 'pudding' !!
My wife said she'd not put the marzipan on top of the cake yet, so we quickly had a team effort to decorate the top of the cake.
I fed the cake with a bit more brandy and spread some jam on top of the cake so the marzipan would stick to it and my wife rolled the marzipan with a rolling pin ....she used some icing sugar on the work top, to ensure the marzipan rolled OK....as we were decorating the cake I was aware of little Ruby having a 'sniff at our efforts'
When I glanced down, she looked like she had aged 10 years as her face was covered with icing sugar dust !!!
I couldn't resist a quick shot....not the sharpest as I had sticky jam fingers , but it made for a fun shot of our little whippet
That's exactly what we do with our cake! Straight out of the Bero book. I love marzipan. Your whippet is cute - we met one on our walk today. She was running rings around our little Westie, trying to get her to play. she was having none of it!
@busylady thank you Judith, many thanks for your kind words :) , whippets are lovely dogs....Ruby and a Westie have a 'bark off' when they see each other on our regular walks !!!
came back to comment on this - saw it the other day but was a bit busy to comment! I just love this - she looks like butter wouldn't melt ....that icing sugar is fabulous!
