Some of you will remember that last year that while photographing Lena, stranger 26, she told me about the 2016 Em-Con Cosplay conference at the Nottingham Arena. and we walked to it together and I photographed 3 strangers there.
Well 50+ strangers and twelve months later it is the 2017 Em-Con conference, so I made my way to the conference entrance and loitered around outside on Bolero Square looking for some stranger pics.
Enter Sarah who I spotted walking across Bolero Square in her Wonder Woman costume.
I introduced myself to Sarah and she appeared really pleased to be asked to be photographed
"I have only been here two minutes and you are the second person to ask to photograph me"
I asked Sarah to move over to a shaded wall as the square was in bright sunlight.
Sarah struck up the pose straight away and let me take quite a few pictures of her.
Sarah originates from Birmingham (she had a nice soft Brummy accent) and has been in Nottingham since 2002.
I had to ask Sarah who she was (as I am not that good at identifying Cosplay characters)
She bought her outfit and made her shield and sword.
Sarah showed me her sword and told me she had to make some last minute adjustments to it as the handle was brown and she realised that Wonder Woman's sword handle was gold.
I think her shield looks like it has been made with a pizza tray.
Sarah had a two day pass to the event and it was her first visit to an event of this kind and scale
I gave Sarah one of my little cards and she said she will contact me for some copies of the photos.
Thank you for being stranger number 79 Sarah, it was nice to meet you. I hope you had a great day at the conference.
