We went to the Nottingham Green Festival today. It's a great event to photograph and it always provides me with a couple of strangers.
Let me introduce Bex, who I met on an information stall for the Lace Market Theatre in Nottingham . The Lace Market Theatre is a small independent amateur theatre, located in the centre of Nottingham.
I asked Bex if she was an actor and she said yes but her main role was Artistic Director.
When I approached the subject of 100 strangers Bex readily accepted. It was quite dull at the time and had just started raining (if you view the image large you can see rain falling). I did some shots under the trees but the backdrop was the back of the stalls which was too busy, so I asked Bex if we could move up the grass bank a bit and use the trees as a backdrop. I also suggested the "over the right shoulder pose", which I am sure you agree works well.
I asked Bex what her job was when not Artistic Directing at the Theatre. I was quite surprised when Bex told me she was a dog walker . She gave up the "corporate world" for Dog Walking. I was quite impressed with that. She also dog sits too.
I asked her what her rates were and she gave me her "dog walking" card.
I did a mono conversion for Bex's shot as I think she stands out nicely in mono against the trees.
