It a Russian prime lens, 58mm F2 and built to last, All metal, heavy and looks in good condition. Renowned for creating swirly bokeh when wide open and no slouch either when shooting with smaller apertures.
I got it from a local charity shop. If I tell you the adapter at £18-30 (on order from Amazon) , was more than twice the price of the lens then you will understand why I cannot wait to try it out and compare it to my Sony 50mm F1.8 prime.

Thanks everyone for your comments and getting this on the PP.
The serial number on the barrel indicates the lens was manufactured in 1997.
The logo on the inside of the lens indicates it was built at the KMZ factory - Krasnogorskiy Mechanicheskiy Zavod. The factory, situated in the town of Krasnogorsk, It built both military and commercial optics and was a massive factory. At it's height the factory probably employed 30,000 workers from a town of 100,000 inhabitants.
The internet is a great resource for research , I found the above information form a Pentax forum and a young man's personal website
