100 Strangers : Round 2 : No. 187 : Kate

This is Kate, who I met at Nottingham’s Goose Fair.

I’d just took a photo of a lady who ran a “Darts Sidestall” and as I shook her hand and walked away I saw Kate. I fact I think Kate saw me as she gave me a nice smile, which I took as an invitation to start some dialogue and ask for a stranger photo.

I was in an area of side stalls and Kate was sweeping the floor with a broom. There a quite a few heavy duty power cables between stalls and rides which are covered with a temporary cover of tarmac (health and safety). Kate told me the tarmac can break up a little and crumble, so Kate was sweeping away the bits of tarmac that had broke away from the cable covering.

Kate was managing a side stall on behalf of her boss, Charles. She has worked the fairs for some years. She said she was going to be working on the “frog ride” later in the afternoon (it’s was a roundabout ride for children were the children sit in frogs that jump up). She wasn’t looking forward to it as rain was forecast and she’d got soaked through the previous evening I the rain.

I really like Kate’s photo , her “red company fleece jacket” looks really nice against the colourful bokeh background of the fair.

Thanks for being stranger 188 Kate .

Love the connection between the red in the foreground and the background. Also like her straightforward look.
