Best of a Bad Bunch

I took this on Thursday, along with many others, and didn't think they were that good when I looked at them later on the camera. I thought even less of them when I transferred them to my phone (with a bigger screen) so put up a photograph of the bridge a little up stream (If I knew how to post a link to Thursday's photograph I would, but I don't sorry)

I've just transferred the photographs from my camera to my PC and had another look on the 22" HD montitor and some, not all, were okay. This is the best, and I admit I've had to do a little bit of processing to get it to, what I consider to be, 'fit for purpose."

It is EXACTLY what I wanted from the shot, the movement of the the water as a blur, with the steady framing of the trees, but I don't think it'll win any prizes. More work needed on this kind of subject methinks
Love the contrast of the water and the ivy on the tree.

Hi Phil, there is an old 365 technique challenge that might be interesting to read - http://365project.org/discuss/themes-competitions/18875/new-theme-csc-31-daylight-long-exposure-silky-water
I see you used ISO 400 for this & it might be easier to get a longer exposure with fixed iso of 100, and a bit longer exposure than 0.2 sec, with f stop moved to f16?

Like your processing with this - the tones are nice and the smooth vs detail came out well.

@ltodd Lyn, Thank you so much for the link, and for the advice. I had set the camera to Manual, but hadn't changed the ISO. I shall revisit this location this coming week, try what you have said and post the results (tagging you in)
Thank you again, really appreciate it

@boatman137 @brennieb @carole_sandford @milaniet Thanks all. It is't brilliant, but with the advice on board from Lyn, I'll be giving it another go

@phil_sandford :-D The best part of a 365 project, is that 'tomorrow' is always a new day with a clean slate & in reality, there are no 'mistakes', only lessons learnt!!

I've mucked up plenty of times during my first year. Posted a few, not posted others. It is a learning curve, but a fun one. You'll probably go back to the same spot next time and nail it :)

I like this. It tells the story.
