Out in my car, I saw a huge tree with clouds of white blossom so I parked and took some photos. I thought it was blackthorn (confirmed via trusty google). And Ray tells me this blossom is the precursor of your sloe gin.
A small and belated September update for 2024, where I am still, after many years' membership, on 365 Project, also now posting elsewhere but wanting...
Thank you. I'd been to my French group and was en route home so I know that it took me 15 mins to get this shot - more time later to choose it and do a bit of processing. Think it's a good job we don't add up how much time we spend on 365?
@beryl
Oh,Beryl, don't tell me. I think Ray (my husband) has got used to how much time I spend on it now but it took him a little while. It seems to draw me in more and more but I very much like the rhythm of the daily aspect of it which suits my lifestyle.
@quietpurplehaze In time ( years) that they was building the church the village has less than halve of to days population (inhabitants). I always wonder what spirits make they build them.
Thank you for your views, comments and favs. I have this shot as my desktop now and a friend who came yesterday identified the blossom as wild cherry, rather than blackthorn. She went by the wood (no 'prickles') and on checking I find it's far too early for blackthorn. So sorry, no sloe gin for Christmas this year!
Richard, thank you. I took so many that I had a hard time deciding which one to post.
Thank you. I like your shots. A slightly belated welcome to 365!

Thank you for appreciation. I think I'll have to go down that way in the autumn for the sloes.
Thank you - it really seems as if spring is on the way - I think?!
