... when the cheese scones come out of the oven just right. I made them yesterday as my friend, Hilary, was coming to visit. So we drank tea, spoke Spanish, ate cheese scones and even took 'Mr Jinks' out for a walk.
@quietpurplehaze Scottish Oat scones 2/3 cup butter melted ( I use 1/3 butter and 1/3 coconut oil and find it much lighter ) 1/3 cup milk 1 egg
1 3/4 cups oats (I use the big ones .. not instant) 1 1/2 cups flour 1/4 cup sugar 1 tablespoon baking powder 1/4 tsp salt 1 cup blueberries
Add butter, milk and egg to combined oats, flour sugar baking powder and salt; mix well. Stir in blueberries Pat mixture out on lightly floured surface to form 12 x 9 inch rectangle. cut dough into 4 x 3 inch rectangles cut each rectangle in half to form triangles. Place on greased cookie sheet. Bake in preheated hot oven 425 degrees F about 12 minutes! Enjoy!

Karin, I'm certain sure you have equally as many talents. (Ich spreche auch ein bisschen Deutsch...) I'm just about to make a blackberry and apple crumble, having revisited the scene of the blackberries photo and picked most of them! Thank you for all your kind comments on my pics which I value. (p.s. I only look at the garden; Ray looks after it - I'm too lazy!)
Oh Hazel you've done it again! Fortunately, I'm not on a fast day today. These looks absolutely scrummy and I've copied the recipe as I'm going to make some after I come back from my holiday when I get back to normal eating! Lovely shot by the way
There was one left this morning which I ate for breakfast - not quite so nice as it would have been yesterday but acceptable with some black coffee!
Muy bien
Ooo would like to try that - what extra ingredients do you add to the basic mix?

Hope you'll like it - the apple and blackberry crumble was really good.
Danke sehr!
I speak German too but not Dutch and I think it will defeat me! I love cheese scones too and so it follows that I love making them!
