mistletoe growing in balls high up on a tree

This is possibly the more usual way for mistletoe to grow although it does quite often grow on an espalier tree.

It seems that certain conditions have to be right for it to grow (I don't know what those conditions are) as it is quite parochial in 'choosing' the areas where it will flourish.

Are you going for a climb Hazel!?!? It always seems to chose the most inaccessible places to grow

I wish Anne! Not much about to buy this year so maybe nobody fancied a climb!

We have mistletoe on our pear tree if you need any...haha! I was told that mistletoe can kill a tree if not taken off but this tree looks like it is growing just fine.

Wow, it looks fabulous. Apparently there are about 90 species of mistletoe in Australia and 70 of them are native.
