June 2021 words - tall/short
I thought this must be what the sunflower plants beside the bird feeders must look like to the birds who eat the seeds off the ground. Do you think they ever look up at them?
oh wow! It looks like a long way up there! They probably look up occasionally to see if there might be more but I bet they stay focused on what is before them on the ground!

Thanks for all the lovely comments and responses to my question. I've been watching the birds, and haven't really noticed them looking up, but I'm sure they are aware of their surroundings. These sunflowers are "volunteers" from the ones that were in the same place last year. They are very tall and sometimes a bit unwieldy. I look forward to them blooming. I'm sure you'll see them again.
