Visited the 911 Memorial , snaking our way through
back alleys, side streets, and what seemed like miles of metal fencing and hoards of people due to the massive construction still underway at the site. It was quite moving to walk around the concrete ledge of the pool, reading the names of those lost in that devastating attack. There was a sort of respectful quiet despite the hundreds gathered there.
That must have been very poignant and sad. I actually went to the top of the Tower in 2001, with no fear of terrorism, just a wobble at the height! Sensitive photo and I like your pov and crop to emphasise the names of the lost lives.
Oh, how emotional to visit the site. I was in New York City on 9/11/2001, and went through the terrible emotions of that day, but I have not been to the Memorial.
I fully agree with Jackie! Glad to hear folks are quietly respectful as they visit. We were able to be there for just a few days in January 2002 to man some Prayer Stations our ministry set up nearby. It was truly a sobering thing to view the site then, as you might imagine... You did a great job of capturing this part of the memorial and I hope to see it in person one day!
Well portrayed, Elizabeth. It is such a powerful memorial - personal despite the scope and scale. I'm glad you had a chance to see it and like your choice of how to represent it.
