The center stone of the Tiffany Diamond, the rarest fancy yellow diamond in the world, weighs 128 1/2 carats! Then there are the 100 carats of white diamonds in the necklace itself. It was mined in South Africa in 1877 and has been exhibited in museums worldwide. For the past hundred years, it has awed visitors to Tiffany's flagship store on Fifth Avenue where it is displayed behind a mighty wall of glass on the main floor. The stone was about the size of my small fist. It was absolutely dazzling!
