Back home (and back online) after 3 weeks in Burma and Thailand. Spent most of the time off the grid with the affable Burmese people, exploring their mystical culture and customs, ancient temples and golden pagodas with a group of 6 photographers, each one anxious to capture the mood of this magical country in an artistic way through his or her personal POV.
Three of the photographers were pros, earning a living and reputation through their lenses. My husband and I have traveled extensively and love photography, but we are "amateurs" by comparison. Our guide was a world class Burmese photographer who made sure we were at the right place at the right time in the right light, everyday from sunrise to sunset and sometimes, well into the evening. The pace was grueling but the rewards were plentiful. We returned with more than 10,000 images to treasure and sort--I haven't even seen them all yet! My plan is to share some of them over the next couple months and work to hone my processing skills along the way to do them justice.
WOW oh WOW! Stunning image and love your commentary. How exciting to be on such a journey! This is such a great introduction to what we will be seeing. Thank you! HUGE FAV
I can't believe you are already back home -- it seems like you just left. This trip is mouthwateringly perfect and I can't wait to see more of your trip! Fav, and probably many more to come!
Beautiful, glad I found you on trending. I have a friend going to Burma in November. Fantastic shot really pops on black. Looking forward to your post.
Welcome back!! This is gorgeous, and I cannot wait to see your entire series and share our impressions of that country! Your time there with just six photographers sounds fabulous, and what a treat it must have been to have the pros along with you! You should check out Leana Niemand's album @leananiemand while you are at it, and too bad that you guys did not connect while you were there at the same time! It's hard when you are traveling with a group, though, and yes, access to the internet is not the easiest in that country. Oh, and FAV!
What a spectacular trip in the company of just photographers! Your guide sounds exceptional! I would have loved to have had some photographic guidance when we were there, but we certainly enjoyed it as well!
