Murano glass chandeliers illuminated the lobby of our old world hotel in Rome. Venetian glass artists have been producing intricate designs for light fixtures, vases, goblets and other works of art since the 1700s. I was fortunate to visit the Murano glass factory in Venice back in the late 80s, where I saw a dazzling display of museum quality glass art.
