Yesterday's tree-trimming trauma motivated me to do more research to determine exactly what kind of tree we have and how best to care for it. I discovered it's an Orchid Tree, native to Southeast Asia, and apparently known to attract hummingbirds so it all makes sense. This morning, I was so happy to see 8 hummers drinking from the fountain that I just watched them without even trying to get the shot.
