Went right by this Mammoth oil tanker in the outer harbor today. It must have been 140 feet wide and at least 1000 feet long. I read recently that another supertanker, also from Monrovia, Liberia, was hijacked by pirates off the coast of West Africa last month. Can you imagine a ship this large "disappearing" off the radar, only to be found completely emptied of its cargo a week later and thousands of miles away?
You seem so comfortable on the sea. I envy you that! I used to sail a bit on Lake Michigan, but rarely on anything sea-going worthy! This is an amazingly imposing capture.
I also like the POV! You have definitely shown us how large and overbearing these ships are. I cannot imagine anyone having the guts to steal something like this!
