We'd been searching for a couple hours without success when suddenly, the White Rhino was just standing there on the road. It didn't budge for while but as we drove closer, another rhino appeared out of the bush and both started walking (not charging) toward our jeep. If you look carefully, you'll notice the rhino's horn has been removed. To prevent poaching, park rangers in South Africa tranquilize some the rhinos and remove their horns. A recent spike in rhino killings is great cause for concern about the future of the species.
That definitely says Roadblock. and it appears to be non-negotiable! Sorry they have to remove their tusks to make them nondesirable to poachers.....it's like deforming women's faces at some tribes to avoid undesirable interest or clitoral circumcision! Sad, but effective, it seems...
