Our final destination in Myanmar was Inle Lake, a magical fresh water lake surrounded by hills, with many small rivers and tributaries. Imagine small communities of self-sufficient farmers and fisherman, most of them Buddhists, living in a wet world of floating gardens and small wooden houses standing on stilts in 10 feet of water. There are no roads, just waterways, so our diesel-powered long boat was our only means of transport. This was my pov from the second seat in the boat.
