Circling the tower by rhoing

Circling the tower

The big news today was the *rain*! Finally! The thunderstorms voided a row on the lake, but I did get some morning time with my camera in the garden.

This is my first decent shot of a bumblebee in flight (I hope). I've certainly trashed scores of frames. It may not be hundreds yet, Kat, but I will continue to try (in my attempt to *not* post flower shots all the time!)… Best viewed while listening to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6QV1RGMLUKE or http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bh29LRr0xpE

I love it! I love the wing blur, the composition of the bee and the blossoms,the gorgeous sunlight, and he appears to be giving you the Bronx cheer too! Fav!

@sparkleplenty1 Thanks, Joyce! An early-ish partial success!

@espyetta Thanks so much, MaryBeth! Sometimes blur is cool and sometimes freezing motion is cool, too. I like the blur here. (I had to look up Bronx cheer, but I agree!) Thanks for the fav!

@hannahpaige @psychographer @cmc1200 @jaboney Thanks, everyone! I did like the blurred wing motion. I wonder how fast a shutter speed is necessary to freeze an aloft bee's wings...

@digitalrn Thanks, Rick. Yeah, I don't know if it was taking off, landing or -- well -- just circling the tower!
June 15th, 2012
@michelleyoung Aww, thanks so much, Michelle. This is not quite what I want to capture, so I continue with the bees in the garden every day!

@aspada Thanks so much, Amy! I was quite pleased!

@angeliquenordal Thanks a lot, Angelique! Persistence. Lots of deleting. Being able to crop. All are necessary!

@sailingmusic @paintdipper Thank you, Myrna & Junan. I don't know why that title occurred to me except that it didn't look like the bee was leaving from or arriving at the stalk in the image!

@rhoing probably REALLY fast!!!!
June 15th, 2012
@hannahpaige I'm sure you're right!
