Photo-bombing ant by rhoing

Photo-bombing ant

This is perhaps a bit of a departure for me as a post, particularly on a day when I had good images of:
» a young male Eastern Pondhawk, http://bugguide.net/node/view/794527
» a Zebra Swallowtail butterfly
» a male Eastern Tiger Swallowtail butterfly, http://bugguide.net/node/view/795272

I like the muted colors and all the folds and waves of the petals, so a flower rather than an insect!

The interloper here is on a Datura metel “GoldenQueen” (family Solanaceae).

Beautiful lighting on the rose. Funny how we don't always see those little photobombers until we upload.

@danette Right you are, Danette! I certainly didn't notice the ant with my 50-something eyes until I saw it on my computer!
