My brother recently asked me something related to the ’68 Tigers and it was fun being taken back to that summer and fall. I remember my [7th grade] homeroom teacher let us listen to the World Series games on the radio; thanks, Mrs. Norsworthy!

As it happens, I also recently came across this autographed baseball. I also have one from the 1966 team. I forgot I had these. Although the 2014 World Series is over, I figured I had to post this at some point and tonight at 11:49 p.m. it has bailed me out! (I had not yet corrected my camera’s date-and-time setting when we went off Daylight Savings Time a week ago.) The leather is a bit yellowed, but the signatures seem to be in pretty good condition.
The posted image had to show the signature of Hall of Famer Al Kaline.
I still remember going to my first major league baseball game at Tiger Stadium in Detroit. Al Kaline: class act all the way.
