Spicebush swallowtail

The "median row" of orange spots is the giveaway feature for identifying this butterfly. Not many frames today: a packing-and-departure day for our trip to San Francisco. We have a 7 a.m. flight out of St. Louis tomorrow, so we'll spend tonight in an airport hotel, rather than make the 2-or-3-hour trip to the airport to arrive an hour or two before 7 a.m.

Confirmed at BAMONA as “Papilio troilus” or “Spicebush swallowtail”; http://www.butterfliesandmoths.org/sighting_details/1092611

Super shot at this butterfly! A good choice to stay in an airport hotel - we do that whenever we can - you are not up all night virtually!
