I hope so. At least, that's the strategy behind this post.
More than a year ago I posted a photo of the young woman who cut my hair every month, http://365project.org/rhoing/365/2015-06-03
After I posted? She moved. (Husband changed jobs.)
Now we come to Brittany. She has a bachelor's degree and wants to work in her field, so the economist in me says it's time for her to move on to the next adventure in her life and use her training and interest. So today I took my camera and explained about Jamie and Danni. "I see where you're going with this," Brittany said.
So I hope she gets a full-time job … in her field … where she wants to be and that this will be my last hair cut from Brittany.
Then I'll have to find another stylist, but fingers crossed for Brittany. :)
Update. It worked! Before my next cut, she had moved to Chicago.
Retired economics professor (“dismal scientist”). Married 40+ years to the love of my life; we have two grown daughters, both married, two granddaughters and a...
All very nice portraits! I've had the same man do my hair for many, many years. We have become good friends. He got a bachelors in business to please his mother, and then started doing what he loved, but he does run a business (his one-chair salon). My fear is that he will one day retire!
@maggiemae@janeandcharlie As Jane doesn't look forward to her guy retiring, I don't like "breaking in" or finding a new person each time. At the same time, however, I'm happy when young people make a change that increases their happiness. That's being an economist and wanting "the best allocation of resources" (and having people being happy at what they "do"). That was part of the privilege of being a university professor. :)
Wonderful portrait, Thom and charming description. I've also seen the same hairdresser for years. She's been working hard completing her bachelors degree in international biz administration, juggling her full-time hairdressing with her classes and family. I'm sooo impressed with her and with her hard work. As much as I would miss her, I'm rooting for her to complete her schooling so she can reach her dream of returning to Mexico, her native country, with her family and getting a good, professional job.
