‘Mangoes and cheese’ [Filler]

“Mother’s Day” meal for Clare yesterday, since Raymond brought Sunday’s Mother’s Day dinner for Clare (and me!). These stuffed peppers are a family tradition on Clare’s mom’s side of the family. While this is the traditional meal with a beef roast, we had ham last year with Clare’s mom and uncle. But it’s not about the meat; it’s all about the egg-and-cheese stuffed peppers with this part of the family. Listening to arteries clog at the end of the meal is optional.

Of course, these are not really “mangoes.” However, apparently it’s not just her family that calls green peppers “mangoes.” It’s a regional or historical quirk. For a “few” explanations:
