Zebra Swallowtail by rhoing

Zebra Swallowtail

Neographium marcellus and Eurytides marcellus, apparently depending on the organization — another species enjoying the milkweed. I photographed one yesterday with only one “tail,” so clearly there have been at least two in the vicinity.

» Confirmed as Eurytides marcellus or “Zebra Swallowtail” at BugGuide
» Confirmed as Neographium marcellus or “Zebra Swallowtail” at Butterflies & Moths of North America
» Species pages: [ BAMONA ] [ BugGuide ] [ U. Florida Entomology & Nematology ]

This species has an interesting naming/taxonomy [recent] history; see Zebra Swallowtail “Synonymy”.

@marlboromaam This is one of my favorite regulars. Especially when both "tails" are still intact!
