Clare has been patient… by rhoing

Clare has been patient…

… but it’s almost time.

I’ve been trying to wait to pull this weed until after it flowered, so I could get a more accurate ID. I expect it’s American Burnweed (Erechtites hieracifolia).
But:
    • it’s in the front of the house.
    • it’s almost as tall as I am.
    • we have company coming for dinner soon.
Its days are numbered.

Edit. Thanks to a comment at iNaturalist and my plant systematics expert, apparently, the inflorescence at the top is about as much as the plant’s flowers “flower.”
