The view from the top of Q1 makes it obvious how many canal systems are on the Coast. This view was similar from any windows not facing the ocean. It's water everywhere.
@fbailey It was quite good up there because you could prop the camera against the glass and use a longer exposure time. It really helped with the water. Thanks for looking!! Cheers Rob
@psychographer Hi Lisa - developers love the GC - buy a sandy, swampy area - dredge out a canal and use the sand to fill the land parts- sell the waterfront blocks for a fortune!! Don't know what will happen if the sea levels rise?? Thanks for having a look and commenting - always appreciated! Cheers Rob
Really good night exposure...do you have a night setting on your point & shoot (mine doesn't...mine doesn't even have a sports exposure setting - darn!)
@granagringa It has a night setting - but it won't do these. It seems to do many short exposures ( you can hear it clicking away!) and then meld them togeher. It does have a "long shutter" setting but it won't let you control anything - after you choose the time you want everything is automatic. Most of the time I just trick it into doing what I want by adjusting the ISO, Exp bias, white balance, colour and focal spot. It is pretty hit and miss!! It doesn't have a sports setting either!! I think the fireworks one might be OK for other night shots - haven't tried that yet?? Thanks for your feedback!!
